You're welcome Darren!
While I don't focus on reviews of any kind, I do have some pieces on Halloween listed on my profile.
Hands-down, the first is the best. I think it's pivotal in the horror movie genre. It's in my Top 5 Favorite Movies of All-Time. Arguably, we never needed a sequel here, let alone a franchise. But I grew up watching the franchise, so it holds a special place.
Setting aside David Gordon Green's trilogy, H20 is the second-best. I've always loved IV, and - this is unpopular - I'm a fan of VI (The Curse of Michael Myers). Resurrection, like Jason X, doesn't make the list ... I just don't acknowledge it, hahahaha.
With Friday, my #2 spot is shared between the original and Part II. The original is fantastic because of the first person POV, and I like that the killer is a disgruntled mother. It's campy (pun intended), it's fun, but the narrative arching from I to II dabbles with some sophistication. Now, the series never really explored that sophistication, but it's there.
