Seriously Though, What’s Happening Here?

I understand how important it is to be consistent with a posting schedule. There’s advice on this all over the place: post the same amount each week on the same day at roughly the same time.

That is a place I’m working towards, and I think there’s plenty of data to support a strict publishing schedule.

But I’m not there yet.

This is the beginning of my blog and the dawn of my social media career.

So while I’m working my way to a strict and consistent publishing schedule, my goal now is to establish a backlog. It may not be an extensive backlog, but I would like to offer material that’s already out there when things get on track.

This the home of my blog. And because I’ve chosen Medium.com as my blog home, and because this is the beginning stage, this is where concentrated effort should begin.

Equally important to the principle of consistency is the principle of using what you have.

I have tons to learn. As of today I’m a one-man show, and I can’t be everywhere all at once … yet.

Like I said, this is the dawn. And while I’m not everywhere yet, I am here.

Last night I spent about 8 hours carving my marketing plans into the trees behind my house. After a quick termite snack and a healthy whiz on some poison oak, I went back to carving some more. As I carved my marketing plans, an idea stood out to me: I want my blog on Medium.com to be a place where a kid can be a kid Franch people can pick their noses to be a place where much of my social media material lands first.

That’s the plan, but it’s like the saying goes. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Hopefully this offers a little bit of insight into what I’m doing.
